We are sentencing ourselves to extinction by following the modern pace of life!

A friend has sent us an interesting article to read. (Thanks, Okel!)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/15/AR2008021502901_pf.html

While reading it, I felt pressure raising in my head, since there we so many
ideas craving for being shaped or at least discussed with someone. But at the
same time, I was at work, preparing to die under the pile of things needed to
be done asap. So there was (and still is) a chance, that nobody in this world
will ever hear those ideas.

And there are millions of people, I am sure, who are trapped in a similar
situation. After all, this may be the key to the lack of far-sighted behavior
mentioned in the above article! We need to take our time, and sit back, and
relax -- thinking about those ideas which come across our minds (well, at least
those who have this kind of "problem", i.e. ideas visiting their
bright minds...).

Lack of time to do that nation-wide leads to a tremendous under-generation
of bright and useful ideas, innovations and even modern philosophical concepts.
These things do not just come by once in a while. The whole human race together
should be seeking for those good seeds and then taking care of those to grow
something good out of them.

Ford and his idea of assembly lines, and narrow specializations created a
major advancement in productivity. But it may have set a time bomb for all of
us as well. "Folks" tend to like this idea so much, that it was taken
to a dangerous extreme. We were trying to raise a generation of human robots,
who would be unable to do anything else except of those very few things they
were trained to do. I bet you can elaborate yourself on dangers of doing that.
My point here is that you cannot teach a person to come up with ingenious idea!
There is no such profession as a "genius" or "social development
idea generator". It is everyone's job to think, to generate ideas and
share those with others. Then maybe some will pick those up "from
the air" and synthesize some really good ones, etc. And people should have
time to develop those, to shape them at least to the speakable form and then
share with others. And we lack this ability.

Some may think we can get away without that. Some even tend to push back
those hours of sleep, so valuable to regenerate their ability to function and
think clearly. In the end this sleep deprivation usually turns into nervous
and/or physical breakdowns, and may even cause permanent health damage. It is
more or less obvious to most, that taking time to rest and sleep is vital for
the survival of their organisms, and yet people tend to neglect this necessity.
Similarly, taking time to just "do nothing" and be able to meditate
over those ideas brewing in your head may be a must for the survival of the
society!

Man, you sound like you

Man, you sound like you really need to go camping!
