Girls match boys on tests in math: study

Despite persistent stereotypes, girls in the United States now perform just as well as boys on standardized tests in math, U.S. researchers said on Thursday (source Reuters), "There just aren't gender differences any more in math performance," said University of Wisconsin-Madison psychology professor Janet Hyde, whose study was published in the journal Science.

Top 10 Reasons Why Airports Are Feeling Like Concentration Camps

Having made a couple of long airplane trips lately lead me to several observations, let me share them with you. Of course, I haven't been to a concentration camp myself (and I am not talking about the ones where little kids who can't concentrate get sent to) but I saw my share of Nazi movies and read some books to have a rought picture in mind. I came to the conclusion that aiports are becoming very much like those camps and here are some reasons why:

Is there always a massive conspiracy going on?

 A recent discussion of 2004 presidential election fraud at slashdot has disturbed me and lead me to confusion in a number of ways. Through the course of the last couple of years I have seen and familiarized myself with a growing number of conspiracy theories presented on the web. Including the "9/11 was orchestrated by CIA", the "big corporations hold us/our health/our children hostage" and many others.
