That's ridiculous

 Here is an example of ridiculous science: the study of what happens to women's voices when they fast. According to the study, when fasting, women tend to talk less and their tone of voice lowers. They also complain that it's harder to talk when you fast. Isn't it obvious that if you don't get enough calories in your diet, you may feel tired and less willing to talk?  read more »

Scientific censorship

 The Fish and Wildlife Service issued a memo that makes polar bears and global warming taboo subjects in public scientific discussions (see here ). Scientists traveling abroad are required to assign a spokesperson who understands the administration's position on this topic (i.e. wouldn't say something that contradicts this position).  Bush administration is notorious for trying to shut up those who disagree.  read more »
