Low quality unprepared tech podcasts

 I am listening to a lot of technology podcasts lately that I get via Google Reader. There are a few famous ones, like Twit (these guys have at least interesting panels), CNet news and buzz-out-loud (cnet.com) and others. What struck me recently that the host don't really prepare the cast. They just read the news in real-time and start discussing them right away before even finishing reading into the story. Imho, this is some low quality crappy net-casting!  read more »

Anthrax spores in free access

 A friend of mine is taking a medical microbiology class in the university. Well, guess what? they have anthrax spores readily available for their lab experiments. Although, from what I understood, those are not mature enough to become airborne, but one can get infected through the cut or by consuming the spores with food! Is there always a massive conspiracy going on?

 A recent discussion of 2004 presidential election fraud at slashdot has disturbed me and lead me to confusion in a number of ways. Through the course of the last couple of years I have seen and familiarized myself with a growing number of conspiracy theories presented on the web. Including the "9/11 was orchestrated by CIA", the "big corporations hold us/our health/our children hostage" and many others.  read more »
