Why would I want to share a "make a hit website" secret with you?

 So many blog posts popping up, giving people advice on how to better their own blog or a website. Makes me wonder if the ones sparing great advice are not just using it to attract more traffic to their own "creations". Why else would they want to share a secret that is creating huge audiences for them and makes tons of money? Giving back to the community, maybe. It is just that most of the time the advice the disseminate as "great" is outright trivial and reminds me of those financial pyramid schemes: you build up a hierarchy of newbies who will drool at your wisdom, meanwhile collecting free hits.  read more »

Exponential upgrades suck !!!

 How many times you were feeling this frustration of purchasing a flash drive or any other small and portable, but yet pricey device, just to discover that double-sized one is out ??? Take those flash drives. I've seen almost all of them. Starting with just 4 MB, then 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256*, 512, 1G*, 2G, 4G* and now 8G (asterisks mark those I've actually owned ). And if you think that technological growth or Moore's law has anything to do with this -- you are SO wrong !!! Have you ever looked inside??? Well, crack yours open, indulge your curiosity ! It does not worth a s***t any more anyway! And you will see, that even the large ones (like 1 or 2 Gs) are in fact half-empty inside.  read more »

Missing page numbers in magazines!!!

How many times it happened to you: you open your favorite magazine to read a cover story on page 112 only to find that it's not there! Not the story, the page! Half of them are occupied by ads, and some smart-ass in their marketing department has decided it would be a neat idea not to number them. This way people will see more ads, while searching for the story! Makes me so mad read more »
