Many emails and many identities - nobody believes you

The situation like this one is a sign of our super-technological times. Long time ago I created a hotmail account. After a while I found better ways to email, so I decided to keep hotmail just in case. It's useful to have an email to give out while shopping or registering online and let all spammers use it as they wish.

Because of some recent updates at the MSN website I couldn't log in into my account anymore - it didn't accept my password. The easy solution "forgot your password" didn't work because an alternative email I provided no longer exists. So I email Microsoft customer support asking to email me my password.

Of course, they can't go around and email passwords to anybody who happened to know my email. So they ask me a bunch of questions to confirm that it's me and my request is valid. The problem is - I don't remember most of the information I provided when I created this stupid account. I don't remember the secret question and its answer, my location, whether I gave out my real birthday, contacts in my address book, nothing.

Since the time I created hotmail, I had at least 5 other emails where I had different questions, locations, contacts, etc. I didn't even think it'd matter. But now I can't confirm that I created this account and I have rights to get a new password. This is the price for creating several web-based emails with varying information. Nobody believes you when you say don't remember what you said.

It looks like all the stupid

It looks like all the stupid ads that hotmail shows you couldn't pay for a decent customer support Smiling
