I am spending lots of time tweaking FireFox recently, so I figured I will gripe about the things that annoy my the most.
I noticed several weeks ago that yellow mouse tooltips stopped showing. It manifested in ForecastFox, Google Calendar weather icons and Google Calendar Notifier extensions.Â
Searching the web did not help, because I was getting tons of irrelevant info about FF displaying TITLE , but not ALT in tooltips. Eventually I just went to about:config and searched "tip" and voila "browser.chrome.toolbar_tips" set to "false" was looking at me!Â
How in the world did it get to this miserable state is beyond my understanding, note that clean profile displayed tooltips fine.
Anyway, this one is fixed with many more to come!

Strange, a couple of days
Strange, a couple of days ago FF did set browser.chrome.toolbar_tips to false again. I don't know, but looks like it is some extension update that resets it.
